As a devoted public school teacher, he passed this love on to his students in Brenham, TX; Crane, TX; Kermit, TX; and Grand Junction, CO.
Ab was preceded in death by his beloved Nellie. He is survived by son, Karl Scott Zachry and wife, Lael Wiseman of Denver, CO; daughter, Karen Louise Gardner and husband, Wayne of San Antonio, TX; eight grandsons, five great-grandchildren, and his brother, “Pete” Zachry.
