I’m not sure the cause, but ever since I installed Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4.0 I get some menu droppings… A menu option that shows up, but then stays on top of everything. Here’s an example:
I signed out of Live Messenger on another machine of mine and that menu got “Stuck”.
WORKAROUND: So here’s my workaround for the moment. I lock the computer, then login again. Then they seem to go away. Annoying, but hopefully it will be fixed in Beta 2.
Update 1 – 26 May 2009 – 1pm
I ran for 4 hours this morning without issue. I did reboot first thing this morning. However, after I started up Visual Studio 2010 I ran into the issue. Indications that I’m going to have an issue is that menu items will appear faintly until the cursor is completely over the sub-menu. If the menu comes up quickly then I’m in good shape.

Thank you for posting this. I’ve been seeing it in the various win7 builds but havent been able to tie it to a specific action or pgm running
