Karl has a workshop for Risk Management

Sunday

Well, straight to work… I’m glad I got a good night’s rest.

Today I attended a workshop, “Exploration Risk Analysis: A Pragmatic Overview” given by Peter Rose and Jeff Brown (of Rose & Associates, LLP.) that started a 9am and ran until about 5:30pm.

This was a good overview. The instructors were frustrated because they were trying to pack a 5 day course (that they feel is too short for the material) into a 1 day course!

I think most people in the course were familiar enough with the topic that they could move fast – which they did.

There were only about 12 people in the course – from Germany, Russia (2), Shell(2), TNO (2), Saudi Aramco, (didn’t catch all the others…)

After that I took a quick stroll up to the Glasgow Cathedral but get there after it closed. It was quite a hike – I need to put on more comfortable shoes before I go walking…

Dinner: Just had a sandwich in the bar downstairs, but decided to try a single malt… Macallan 10 year. They don’t have much of a wine selection so I might as well enjoy what they do well. It was very good. I normally don’t drink scotch.
